UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3933 Broadway

A suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 3933 Broadway about 8:45 p.m. on February 22 is now in custody.

The suspect, Jeffery C. Archangel (b/m, 25), is charged with capital murder in the 337th State District Court for his role in the killing of Javier Flores, 18, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov reported:

Two male suspects entered the Subway restaurant at the above address and held an employee (Mr. Flores’ mother) at gunpoint.  As Flores tried to intervene during the robbery, he was shot.  The suspects then fled the scene.  HFD paramedics transported Flores to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Further investigation led to the identity of Archangel as a suspect in this case and he was charged on Thursday (May 4).  He was taken into custody about 12:45 p.m. today (May 5).
