A person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 3850 Wilcrest Drive about 1:40 p.m. on November 24 has been arrested and charged.
The suspect, Zavion Joshua Pabon, 18, is charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 486th State District Court. A booking photo of Pabon is attached to this news release.
The victim has been identified as Tyler McGinty, 37.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a hotel room at the above address and were informed the victim had suffered a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the man, later identified as Mr. McGinty, to an area hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on November 28.
Further investigation identified Pabon as a person of interest and later as a suspect in this case. Earlier today (December 5), Pabon was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail.
