UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3800 Goodhope Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3800 Goodhope Street that occurred about 4:45 a.m. on Monday (April 19).

The suspect, a 16-year old male, was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a murder charge.

The victim is identified as Wayne Anthony Steele, 33.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Burrow and K. Daignault reported:

Officers responded to a shooting at a vacant lot at the above address and found Mr. Steele suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Steele deceased at the scene.

Further investigation determined three young males were involved in the shooting.  The shooter was identified as the 16-year-old male.

On Wednesday (April 21), the juvenile was taken into custody by the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team and he was subsequently charged for his role.  Investigators are still working to identify the other two males involved.
