The suspect, Micheal Sean Pace, 21, is charged with murder in the 495th State District Court. A booking photo of Pace is not available at this time.
The victim is identified as Johnathan Boyd, 35.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Barrett and P. Michon reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a gas station at the above address and found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound lying by the gas pumps. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Boyd, deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined Boyd got into an argument with an unknown suspect that led to a physical fight, and Boyd being shot.
The suspect, described only as an unknown male, fled the scene in a white Nissan Altima with black rims.
Further investigation identified Pace as the suspect in this case. He was subsequently charged on Tuesday (Feb. 25). On Thursday (Feb. 27), Pace was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was booked into the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and will be extradited back to Harris County.
