UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3322 Yellowstone Boulevard

Charges have been filed against a robbery suspect arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a fellow male robbery suspect at 3322 Yellowstone Boulevard about 12:25 a.m. on May 12.

One suspect, Zayveon Marshall, 17, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 180th State District Court.  A booking photo of Marshall, now in custody, is attached to this news release.

The deceased suspect is identified as Aryeh White, 21.

The male shooter was not injured.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective R. Lujan reported:

A male was making a food delivery to the above address when he was confronted by a male suspect, who pointed a gun at him and demanded his cash.  Fearing for his life, the male pulled out his gun and fatally shot the suspect, later identified as White.  The male remained at the scene and provided a statement to responding officers.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and it was determined the shooting would be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

At that time, homicide detectives were seeking a second male suspect, who took the male’s backpack as White held him at gunpoint. He was described only as a black male wearing a white hoodie.

Further investigation identified Marshall as that second suspect.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Marshall was charged for his role in the incident.  Marshall was arrested last Friday (May 24) without incident by officers with the HPD Narcotics Tactical Team.

The fatal shooting investigation will be reviewed by a Harris County grand jury.
