Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a juvenile female that occurred at 15400 Park Manor Street about 9:10 p.m. on January 11.

He is accused in the fatal shooting of Diamond Alvarez, 16.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Daignault, M. Burrow, S. Jimenez and Detective A. Hernandez reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 5100 block of Markwood Lane. Upon arrival, they found Ms. Alvarez lying on the edge of an empty field (15400 Park Manor Street) suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and then the sound of tires squealing as a vehicle fled the scene.
Further investigation determined suspect Deleon was simultaneously in a romantic relationship with Alvarez and another female. When Ms. Alvarez learned of the other relationship, she met Deleon at the park where he shot her multiple times. Deleon then fled on foot.
Investigators determined a dark-colored vehicle arrived at the scene a few minutes after the shooting. At least two people initally got out and then returned to the vehicle and left. Detectives have determined those individuals were not involved in the shooting but would still like to interview them.
On Monday (January 18), Deleon was arrested and charged for his role in Alvarez’s death.
Anyone with additional information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
