Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 14370 South Post Oak Road about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 12).
The suspect, Michael Dewayne Wilkerson, 39, is charged with capital murder and tampering/fabricating physical evidence in the 182nd State District Court. A booking photo of Wilkerson is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the killing of Darrell Lynn Tikisha King, 29.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Watson and M. Burrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a business at the above address and found an unresponsive woman with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman, later identified as Ms. King, deceased. A preliminary investigation determined King was an employee of the business.
Further investigation identified Wilkerson, who had a previous dating relationship with King, as the suspect in this case. On Wednesday (Nov. 13), officers with the HPD Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team arrested Wilkerson without incident. He was eventually booked into the Harris County Jail.
