Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 10210 Morocco Road about 11 a.m. on October 1.
The suspect, Dewayne Malik Banks, 20, is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Banks is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Leslie Hall, 46.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Persad and Detective L. Gonzales reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call outside a residence at the above address and found Mr. Hall unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. He had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Hall deceased.
Officers learned a male suspect was seen possibly fleeing into the wooded area across the street.
Further investigation identified the suspect as Banks and, on Thursday (November 2), he was arrested by officers with the HPD Northwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team without incident. Banks was interviewed by homicide detectives and subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
