Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7651 Park Place Boulevard about 1:50 a.m. on December 27, 2022.

The suspect, Isaiah Gonzalez, 29, is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. A booking photo of Gonzalez is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Pedro Diaz Anzures, 48.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a bar at the above address and found Mr. Anzures unresponsive in the parking lot near the entrance to the bar.  He had been shot and was pronounced deceased by paramedics.

Witnesses told officers an argument and fight broke out inside the bar and ended in a shooting outside the business.  An unknown suspect, described only as a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30, shot the victim multiple times and then fled the scene.

Further investigation identified Gonzalez as the suspect. He was found to be in custody on unrelated charges filed by another law enforcement agency. Gonzalez admitted to his involvement in the incident and was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
