| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1600 Sam Wilson Street that occurred about 3:50 a.m. on December 7, 2022.
The suspect, Derek Sam Anderson, 21, is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court. A booking photo of Anderson is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Joshua Davis, 38.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Detective T. Tyler reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found a male in the street. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Photos of three persons of interest, one male and wo females, were released to the public on December 7. An initial investigation identified the male as Anderson, the shooter.
Further investigation developed information on Anderson’s whereabouts and, on Wednesday (January 4), he was arrested without incident and subsequently charged.
The two females are believed to be witnesses to the shooting and are not charged at this time.
