Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man found at 11959 South Sam Houston Parkway South service road about 7:30 p.m. on May 22, 2020.
Auncharetta Mohono (aka Auncharetta Chandler), 41, is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. A booking photo of Mohono is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Darron Paschal, 49.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Watson and M. Burrow and Detectives C. Arrington and L. Osborn reported:
When the victim failed to check out of his motel room on time, the front desk clerk went to check on him. Inside the room, the clerk found the victim, later identified as Mr. Paschal, lying on the floor. The clerk called for an ambulance and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased. He had suffered a single gunshot wound.
Further investigation identified the suspect as Mohono. On Friday (Sept. 7) she was arrested through a collaborative effort of HPD Homicide investigators, Southwest Patrol and South Gessner Patrol officers. She was then charged for her role in Paschal’s death.
