HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer E. Clark reported:
Mr. Chacon was walking across Broadway – not at a crosswalk – when he was struck by a black Honda Accord. Moments later, it is believed a second vehicle struck Chacon. The driver of the second (wanted) vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene. Paramedics arrived and pronounced Chacon deceased.
The driver of the Honda was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
