UPDATE: Surveillance Video of Vehicle Sought in Fatal Shooting at 500 Oxford Street

Houston police have released surveillance video of a vehicle sought in connection to the fatal shooting of a man at 500 Oxford Street about 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday (October 5).  

The vehicle, described as a white, Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon, has a sticker with the letters “SLP,” possibly for San Luis Potosi, on the driver’s side rear window.

The victim has been identified as Jose Mazariegos, 45.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Jimenez and Officer J. Campbell reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Mazariegos lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Mazariegos deceased.

According to witnesses, Mazariegos, was standing outside his truck parked in the roadway on Oxford Street when an unknown suspect shot him.  The suspect then got into the vehicle described above and fled southbound on Oxford.
