Houston police have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 1100 Providence Street about 1:40 a.m. on October 14, 2023.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He has tattoos on his chest and arms, and was wearing a black hooded jacket, gray sweatpants and a white tank top. Surveillance video of the suspect is attached to this news release.
The deceased victim has been identified as Zayden Kimple, 24.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a warehouse where a party was occurring at the above address and learned one man had gotten into an argument with other persons present at the location. The man was shot and killed while trying to obtain property that had been allegedly stolen from him. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers determined a second male, 21, had been shot and he was also transported by paramedics to an area hospital. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released.
At that time, there was no known suspect(s) description.
Further investigation and evidence from the scene developed information on a suspect description.
