Houston police have released surveillance photos of a vehicle believed to be involved in the fatal shooting of a man at 11400 East Freeway (Interstate Highway 10 East) about 10:45 p.m. on August 20.
The vehicle is believed to be a white, newer model, Toyota Rav4 or Ford Escape, with dark-tinted windows that may belong to the suspect. It is also believed a black or Hispanic female may have been in the passenger seat at the time of the shooting.
Surveillance photos of the vehicle are attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Tyler Wayne Young, 29.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective M. Perez reported:
A Jacinto City police officer was flagged down at a business parking lot in the 11800 block of the East Freeway service road and was told Mr. Young was shot while driving eastbound on the freeway in the city limits of Houston. Witnesses stated a white passenger car pulled alongside Young’s vehicle in the 11400 block of the East Freeway main lanes and someone inside the white car began shooting into Young’s SUV. Young was struck at least one time.
Two juvenile males – 8 and 6 years of age – were inside Young’s vehicle at the time of the shooting and managed to steer the car into a strip center business parking lot. They were not injured. Young was pronounced deceased at the scene.
