Houston police have released a surveillance photo of a suspect in the shooting of a woman at 5420 Griggs Road about 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 28).
The suspect is described only as a black male. Surveillance photos of the wanted suspect are attached to this news release.
The victim, 27, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives J. Windham and B. Godoy reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call on a METRORail train at the above address and observed a female victim with gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital.
Preliminary information indicates an unknown male suspect on a bicycle arrived at a train platform shortly before the shooting occurred. The suspect then left the location on a bicycle westbound toward Martin Luther King Boulevard.
HPD and the METRO Police Department are conducting a joint investigation into this incident.
