HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim, later identified as Abraham Choukair, deceased.

A preliminary investigation determined the victim was last seen in the parking lot talking to a female who was followed by an unknown male suspect.  The suspect was described only as a Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, black sandals and a black and white Nike backpack.  He was seen running further into the apartment complex with the female (second suspect).  Surveillance photos of the male suspect were released on July 22.

Further investigation identified Garcia as the suspect and he was charged on September 5.  A warrant was issued for his arrest and he remains at large.

The female suspect was taken into custody today (Oct. 15) without incident.
