Houston police have arrested one suspect and are asking for assistance in locating a second suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 10801 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 9:50 p.m. on February 5, 2021.
The wanted suspect, Israel Perez, 31, is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. He is not in custody. The other suspect, Josie Torres, 31, is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. Booking photos of the suspects (both from 2021) are attached to this news release.
The two individuals are wanted for their roles in the killing of Baldemar Flores, 31.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants B. Roberts and J. Stroble reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a hotel at the above address and located Mr. Flores unresponsive in the parking lot. He had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced Flores deceased at the scene.
Further investigation led to the identities of two suspects as Torres and Perez. Torres was arrested on August 16, 2021 by members of the HPD Westside Patrol Division Tactical Unit.
Last Friday (Sept. 2), charges were filed on Perez. He has not been apprehended at this time. Perez is also wanted on charges of aggravated robbery, felony evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance in separate incidents.
