Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a driver and vehicle in connection to the death of a man found at 8603 Almeda Genoa Road about 11:30 p.m. on July 3.
The wanted vehicle is a 2010 white Nissan Altima, driven by an unknown suspect.
The victim, Gabriel Rodriguez, 32, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and K. Fregia reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a call from a passing motorist of a person lying in the driveway of a cemetery at the above address. Officers arrived and found the victim, later identified as Mr. Rodriguez, near the entrance to a gate. He appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Rodriguez deceased.
Further investigation revealed Rodriguez was apparently intoxicated and seen lying in a parking lot of a nearby business. He then walked down the street and eventually was seen lying – with headphones on – in the driveway of the cemetery. At some point, Rodriguez was run over by a white Nissan Altima, whose driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
Anyone with information on the vehicle or driver wanted for questioning in this incident is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
