Houston police are releasing additional information on suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 6643 Cullen Boulevard about 2:10 a.m. on June 30.
The victim, Edward Pickney, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Burton and Detectives N. Sharp, J. Escobar and B. Rothberg reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a gas station at the above address and found Mr. Pickney lying in the parking lot.
A witness who had been with the victim earlier reported hearing a gunshot while inside the store. She then saw two male suspects inside the victim’s vehicle. Fearing for her safety, the witness fled the scene on foot, but later returned to the location to speak with investigators.
Further investigation has determined the suspects are described only as at least three males wearing white jackets and “ghost” masks. They are believed to have fled in a dark color Honda or Toyota, 4-door sedan, possibly an early 2000’s model.
At this time, the motive is believed to be robbery.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
