Houston police have released a composite sketch of a suspect and a surveillance photo of the wanted vehicle in the fatal shooting of a woman at 8500 Rannie Road that occurred about 4:45 a.m. on February 6.
The identity of the victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his early 30s with an average build and approximately six feet tall. A composite sketch of the wanted suspect is attached to this news release. He is believed to be driving a silver, Ford F-150 pickup truck. A surveillance photo of the truck is also attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Officer A. Dudley reported:
The victim and a male friend were scavenging through discarded furniture left outside by neighborhood residents when an unknown Hispanic male suspect blocked the woman’s vehicle parked in the center of the road in the 8600 block of Rayson Road. The suspect exited his silver Ford F-150 pickup truck and confronted the victim over her parked vehicle. The argument escalated into a physical altercation and fight. The woman cut or stabbed at the suspect with a pocket knife to create separation from him and then returned to her vehicle and left the scene.
The suspect returned to his truck and chased after the woman, where he eventually caught up with her vehicle in the 8500 block of Rannie Road. There, the suspect fired multiple shots into the driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle, striking the woman one time and causing her to lose control of her vehicle. The victim’s friend (passenger) managed to stop the vehicle. The suspect fled the scene.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Anyone with information on the identity of the wanted suspect or with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
