WHAT: Townhome fire.
WHEN: August 10, 2024, at 8:35 p.m.
WHERE: 9200 block of Westwood Village Dr., 77036.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $140,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $30,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 2-story townhome and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed with no one found. The crews extinguished the fire that was in the attic area above the washer and dryer. Wires running along the dryer duct had arched and caused the fire. 29 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 68, 83, 10, 51 and 73.
