WHAT: Townhome fire.
WHEN: September 16, 2023, at 3:10 p.m.
WHERE: 6500 Harbor Town Dr. 77036.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $380,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $130,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Active of nature (lightning).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire and smoke coming from 2-story townhomes. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. The roof was ventilated and once the fire was extinguished, crews conducted salvage and overhaul. There was major roof and interior damage to two townhomes with water damage to the first-floor units. The residents and several bystanders witnessed and a lightning strike which caused the fire. The American Red Cross was requested for the residents. 54 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 2, 28, 68, 83, 10, 48, 51, 60, 73, 57 and Rescue 10.
