WHAT: Townhome fire.
WHEN: May 3, 2023 at 11:43 p.m.
WHERE: 9800 block of United Dr. 77036.
INJURIES: One civilian transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: $85,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $35,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental due to an electrical malfunction.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a 1-story townhome on fire with a victim outside who was transported to the hospital by HFD EMS. Crews made an offensive attack on the fire and quickly extinguished it. The room of origin suffered from extensive damage and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Firefighters from Stations 10, 76, 69, 2, 68, 83, 73, 75, 57 and Rescue 10 responded to this incident.
