Suspects Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 7135 Fulton Street

Charges have been filed against two suspects wanted in the shooting of a man at 7135 Fulton Street about about 8:20 p.m. on May 7.

Michael Henry McCaskey, 41, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon in the 176th State District Court.  Kristi Coker, 33, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon in the 174th State District Court.  Previous booking photos of both suspects are attached to this news release.

The victim, Leeroy Myers, 76, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives J. Cimeni and Z. Brumley reported:

The suspects were arguing with several people while retrieving property from a room they were living in inside a chapel at the above address. Investigators learned Mr. Myers had intervened to calm the situation and then helped suspects move their belongings into their vehicle. As Coker drove away, Mccaskey fired multiple times from the vehicle, striking the victim once. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital.

Mccaskey and Coker are considered armed and dangerous.
