Suspects Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 5600 San Felipe Street

Charges have been filed against two suspects wanted in the shooting of a man at 5600 San Felipe Street that occurred about 12:15 a.m. on Sunday (November 5).

One suspect, Rodney Jermaine Tyler,  26, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon in the 248th State District Court.  The second suspect, Mechelle Lee Johnson, 26, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the same court.

Photos of both suspects, who are not in custody, are attached to this news release.

The male victim, 28, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives E. Guan and V. Gamez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and learned a male had been shot multiple times by a suspect known to him.  The victim was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.

A preliminary investigation, evidence from the scene and witness statements identified Tyler and Johnson as the suspects in this case.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and both suspects were subsequently charged.  Tyler and Johnson remain at-large.
