The twin female infants, 1 and 1/2 months old, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:

HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a report of twin infants found unresponsive at a residence at the above address.  Paramedics pronounced the infants deceased at the scene.  An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined the infants suffered blunt force trauma.

Further investigation identified Calderon and Vega, the children’s parents, as the suspects in this case.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and both were subsequently charged for their roles in the twins’ death.  Calderon and Vega were arrested on Friday (April 19) by the HPD Eastside Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team without incident.
