Suspect Wanted, Charged in September Shooting at 4709 Emancipation Avenue

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of two men and one woman at 4709 Emancipation Avenue about 11:45 p.m. on September 24.

The suspect, Larice E. Evans, 47, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated assault against a public servant in the 262nd State District Court. A previous 2023 booking photo of Evans, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The two male victims, 56 and 34, and the female victim, 23, are expected to survive their injuries.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Garcia and P. Ungaro reported:

HPD officers responded to a panic alarm call at a business at the above address and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds and in need of medical attention. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported both victims to area hospitals. One was listed in critical condition and the other was stable.

Officers responded to an area hospital for another gunshot wound victim who was transported by a private vehicle. Investigators learned the victim was shot at the above address and was listed in stable condition.

Investigators also learned the suspect fired at an Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy working an extra employment job at the business.  The suspect fled the scene in an unknown dark colored vehicle.

Further investigation identified Evans as the suspect in this incident and he was subsequently charged on November 25.  He has not been located.
