Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted for assaulting a peace officer at 1110 North Post Oak Road about 5:45 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 22).
The suspect, Frank Roy Todaro, 75, is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant in the 209th State District Court. A photo of Todaro, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
The female victim, 41, was treated and released from an area hospital.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Sergeants D. Solis and C. Cardenas reported:
An off-duty Stagecoach Police Department officer was working an extra job directing traffic at the above address. Todaro was driving northbound when he disregarded an order from the officer to drive straight and illegally turned west onto the 7400 block of Awty School Lane. The Stagecoach officer stood in front of the vehicle, stopping the suspect. As she walked towards the driver side door, the suspect started driving off and struck the officer. She suffered injuries to her shoulder.
Todaro was subsequently charged for his role in the incident. He remains at large.
