Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in the shooting of a male at 5300 Washington Avenue about 2:30 a.m. on January 5.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his early 20s. Photos of the suspect are attached to this news release.
The victim, 20, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Central Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team Officer A. Revilla reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in a parking lot at the above address and found the victim with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements determined the suspect and the victim got into an argument and, at some point, the victim was shot. While witnesses did not see the actual shooting, the suspect was seen with a black handgun in his waistband during the argument.
Further investigation developed a possible suspect description and officers managed to obtain the photographs below. .
