Suspect Charged, Wanted in Stabbing at 6655 Atwell Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the stabbing of a man at 6655 Atwell Drive about 12:15 a.m. last Saturday (April 10).

The suspect, Devonte Jackson (b/m, 23), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 230th State District Court.  A booking photo of Jackson, who is not in custody, is not available for release at this time.

The victim, Deidris Woods, 29, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Detective S. Deroam reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing call at an apartment at the above address and, upon arrival, found Mr. Woods had been stabbed multiple times.  He was subsequently transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.  Once there, he told investigators he was stabbed by his step-brother, suspect Devonte Jackson.  The weapon was recovered at the scene.  Jackson fled prior to the arrival of officers and is believed to be traveling in a 2012 red Honda Civic.
