Suspect Charged, Wanted in Stabbing at 6425 Westheimer Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the stabbing of a woman at 6425 Westheimer Road about 9:50 p.m. on Thursday (July 4).

The suspect, Andres Mauricio Valenzuela Blandon, 33, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 482nd State District Court.  A photo of Valenzuela Blandon, who is not in custody, is not available at this time for release.

The victim, 36, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Ramirez reported:

Officers responded to a cutting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim lying on the ground in the common area of the complex.  The unknown suspect had fled the scene.

A preliminary investigation and victim statements determined the victim’s estranged partner, later identified as Valenzuela Blandon, grabbed her and stabbed her several times .  She was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Valenzuela Blandon was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.  He is currently at-large.
