Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 8018 Colonial Lane

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 8018 Colonial Lane about 5:50 a.m. on Thursday (Oct. 10).

The suspect, Edward Charles Taylor, 58, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th State District Court.  A previous photo of Taylor, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The victim, 69, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Chavez reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and learned a man was shot and transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his right leg.  A witness stated the victim and suspect (Taylor) are family members, who got into an argument that escalated when Taylor pulled a gun and shot the victim.  Taylor then fled the scene.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges against Taylor.  A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
