Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 10910 Cullen Boulevard

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 10910 Cullen Boulevard about 7:55 p.m. on Saturday (March 1).

The suspect, Denzel Jamell Nixson, 36, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member-serious bodily injury in the 209th State District Court.  A photo of Nixson, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The victim, 67, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Family Violence Division Detective J. Hasley reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and determined a male shot a relative during an argument and then fled the scene before police arrived.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.

Further investigation led to the identity of the suspect as Nixson, the victim’s son-in-law.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Nixson was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.  He remains at large.
