Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a male at 5064 Griggs about 11 a.m. on September 22.
Jeremiah Malik Coleman, 24, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon in the 495th State District Court. A previous booking photo of Coleman, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the shooting of a male, 31.
HPD Southeast Patrol Division Sergeant D. Crandall reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a convenience store at the above address and were told by an employee both the victim and the suspect had fled the scene. A short time later, officers responded to an additional shooting call and found the victim at his residence. The victim had suffered multiple non life-threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital. The victim stated he had been shot at the above address.
Surveillance video showed the suspect retrieve a gun and fire multiple shots at the victim.
The suspect was later identified as Coleman, and on October 8, he was charged for his role in the shooting.
