Suspect Charged, Wanted in July Shooting at 2415 Main Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 2415 Main Street about 3:35 a.m. on July 10.  

The suspect, Daterrius Dashon Alexander, 26, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon in the 179th State District Court.  A 2018 booking photo of Alexander, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The victim, 33,  was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his wounds.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives Z. Brumley and C. Johnson reported:

The victim and Alexander got into a verbal altercation while at a bar at the above address.  Alexander drove his vehicle toward the victim and continued to argue with him.  Alexander then pointed a weapon at the victim and shot him at least once.  A security guard at the location returned fire toward Alexander’s vehicle as he fled the scene.  At that time, it was not known if the suspect was struck by the gunfire.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.

An initial investigation determined Alexander had been struck by the gunfire and was located at an area hospital.  Further investigation and witness statements positively identified Alexander as the shooter in this incident and today (September 8) charges were filed.  Alexander remains at large and his whereabouts are unknown.
