Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another at 4712 Majestic about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 15).
The suspect, Marcus Rodgers (b/m, 18), is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. A photo of Rodgers is attached to this news release.
The first victim, Daryal Garrett, 51, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Daryal Garrett, Jr., 24, of the above address was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital in serious condition.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Hay and Officer A. Vinogradov reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting that occurred in the street at the above address. Upon arrival, they found both victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses described a possible suspect. Further investigation identified that suspect as Marcus Rodgers. He remains at large at this time.
