Officers were dispatched to a shooting in-progress call regarding a male (suspect) firing a weapon into the air and possibly at vehicles.  Officers approached the suspect, who raised his weapon towards them and attempted to shoot, but the weapon malfunctioned.  Officers subsequently discharged their weapons at the suspect, striking him at least one time.  The suspect fled on foot after being shot but was apprehended without further incident and transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

As is customary in officer-involved shooting incidents in the city limits, the incident is being investigated by the Special Investigations Unit, the Internal Affairs Division and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
