Charges have been filed against a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 9307 Boone Road about 11:05 p.m. on Tuesday (May 17).
The suspect, Andrew Duy Tran, 22, is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. A booking photo of Tran, who remains hospitalized, is not releasable at this time. The identity of the male victim, 32, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Wallschlaeger and J. Jorsch reported: HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a business at the above address. Investigators learned two groups were involved in a verbal and physical altercation. Tran shot the victim multiple times. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. An unknown individual shot Tran multiple times before fleeing the scene, and a second individual fired at people as they fled the scene. That individual helped Tran into a gray four door sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla, and transported him to an area hospital. He was then transported via Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center. Tran was subsequently charged for his role in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
