HPD Homicide Division Detectives B. Stephens and G. Zavala reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an auto-pedestrian crash at the intersection near the above address and found a woman had been struck by a motor vehicle.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman deceased.

An initial investigation, evidence from the scene, and witness statements determined a male suspect got into a physical altercation with a woman, 24, before attempting to intentionally strike her with his vehicle. She was not seriously injured.

The suspect’s vehicle struck another woman and he fled on foot.  He was taken into custody by responding HPD officers soon after the crash. The suspect was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released to police custody.

Further investigation identified the suspect as George and he was subsequently charged for his role in this incident. George was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
