Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing at 9700 Westheimer Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 9700 Westheimer Road about 8:55 p.m. on Saturday (June 24).

The suspect, Steven James Conley, 39, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 183rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Conley is attached to this news release.

The victim, 46, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Sergeant V. Garcia and Detective S. Elias reported:

Officers responded to a stabbing call at a bus stop at the above address and learned a male getting off a bus was stabbed by a suspect with a pocket knife.  Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital.

The suspect (Conley) called 911 and stated he stabbed the victim and was no longer on scene.  HPD and Metro police officers located Conley and detained him.  He was subsequently taken to jail and charged.
