Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a male at 9530 Jensen Drive that occurred about 2:45 a.m. on Thursday (October 19).
The suspect, Ronald Wayne James, 59, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of James is attached to this news release.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and is expected to survive his injuries.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives C. Brown and J. Windham reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing in the 2800 block of Turner Street, where they located James and detained him without incident. Officers also located the victim who had suffered a stab wound to the abdomen. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
Further investigation and evidence from the scene identified James as the suspect and determined the stabbing occurred in the parking lot of a convenience store at 9530 Jensen Drive.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and James was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
