Charges have been filed against suspect arrested in the stabbing of a woman at 4004 Irvington Boulevard about 8:50 p.m. last Thursday (Dec. 8).
The suspect, Alberto Garcia Jr., 36, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 230th State District Court. A booking photo of Garcia is attached to this news release.
The female victim, 35, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer B. Padilla reported:
Officers were dispatched to a stabbing call at an apartment complex at the above address and were advised the victim was found with stab wounds and transported to a hospital.
Following the incident, Garcia, the victim’s boyfriend, called 911 to turn himself in to police. Garcia was taken into custody and subsequently charged in the case.
