Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 3558 Ocee Street about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 5).
The suspect, Rodrigo Chacon (also known as Rodrigo Amaya), 28, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 184th State District Court. A booking photo of Chacon is attached to this news release.
The victim, Amilcar Torres, 39, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective S. De La Cruz reported:
Officers were dispatched to a disturbance with a weapon call at the apartment complex at the above address and observed Mr. Torres with stab wounds. Paramedics transported Torres to the hospital.
Chacon, who is Torres’ nephew, was detained at the scene and questioned. Officers recovered the knife used in the assault. After consulting with members of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed on Chacon and he was transported to jail.
