Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man and a woman at 3201 North Shepherd Drive about 10:55 a.m. last Friday (Oct. 20).
The suspect, Micah Christian Eckert, 25, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 185th State District Court. A booking photo of Eckert is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 42, and female victim, 44, were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Ali reported:
Officers responded to a stabbing call at a restaurant parking lot at the above address. They were advised two persons had been stabbed after the male victim got into a physical altercation with Eckert that escalated when Eckert stabbed the male and his wife.
A security guard in an adjacent property detained Eckert until officers arrived. It was learned that Eckert was dating the female victim and was confronted by the woman’s husband.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed on Eckert and he was booked into the Harris County Jail.
