Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in connection with the shooting of a man at 6666 Chetwood Drive about 7:55 p.m. on Thursday (August 19).
The suspect, Aiden Christian Simmons (b/m, 17), is charged with carrying a prohibited weapon in the 176th State District Court. A booking photo of Simmons is attached to this news release.
The victim, 37, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Hasley reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and were advised by witnesses that the victim got into an argument with his son, 17, immediately prior to the shooting. The witnesses did not know who the aggressor was among the two men. The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, refused to provide a statement. Simmons was detained at the scene and subsequently charged.
