Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a road rage shooting incident that ended at 11500 Keegans Ridge Drive about 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday (February 16).
The suspect, Jesse Ramos (H/m, 26), is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Ramos is attached to this news release.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective Thornton reported:
Ramos was driving a black pickup truck when he pointed a gun at an off-duty Houston police officer driving in his personal vehicle. The officer followed the suspect vehicle to get the license plate. It was then that Ramos stuck his arm out the window. He was holding a gun and pointed it at the officer a second time and fired several shots into an open field. The officer continued to follow the suspect vehicle as he was on the phone with 911 dispatch to request back up and give a direction of travel. Ramos then drove into an apartment complex at the above address where the officer was able to take him into custody without further incident.
Officers recovered Ramos’ gun and several magazines from inside his vehicle. He was subsequently charged.
