| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a woman at 9002 Sterlingshire about 10:10 a.m. on Sunday (June 11).
The suspect, Darnecia Elease Bonner (b/f, 32), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 262nd State District Court. She is accused in the shooting of Zakia Jenkins, 29, of Houston, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers M. Coleman and T. Tyler reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at the above address and found a female (Ms. Jenkins) had suffered a gunshot wound. She was transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital. Bonner left the apartment prior to officers' arrival. She later turned herself in to HPD authorities and was subsequently charged.
