Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 6623 Harwin Drive

Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the shooting of a woman that occurred at 6623 Harwin Drive about 5:45 a.m. on Sunday (February 28).

The suspect, Marcelo Campos Perez (H/m, 59), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member- serious bodily injury in the 185th State District Court. A booking photo of Campos Perez is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the shooting of his wife, Darlenya Mena Guerrero, 29, who was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Montalvo reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at a hotel at the above address and were advised that Ms. Guerrero had been transported to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Responding officers pulled over a vehicle leaving the scene and detained the driver, Campos Perez. A witness identified Campos Perez as the shooter in this case and a pistol was recovered in his vehicle.

Investigators interviewed Campos Perez and he admitted to his role in shooting his wife.
