Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 5524 Airline Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 5524 Airline Drive about 4:10 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 12).

The suspect, Christopher Jermaine Bradley (b/m, 28), is charged with aggravated assault – serious bodily injury in the 209th State District Court.  A booking photo of Bradley is attached to this news release.

The male victim, Earnest Hudson, 18, was transported to an area hospital where he is expected to survive his wounds.  A second victim, a girl, 6, was wounded in the leg and transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers A. Le and L. Bolmanski reported:

Mr. Hudson exited the business at the above address after stealing a cell phone and setting off an alarm.  Bradley, a security guard not in uniform, confronted Hudson outside the business.  Bradley pointed his gun at Hudson, who began to run.  At that time, Bradley fired multiple shots and struck Hudson several times.  One of the shots also struck a young girl outside a nearby business.  Paramedics transported both victims to area hospitals.

Bradley was detained and subsequently charged on Tuesday (Nov. 13) for his role in the incident.
